Trypophobia

Up until a few days ago, I was unfamiliar with this term.

 

I always had a strong aversion for certain patterns and shapes that exist in nature, particularly oval or circular shapes that bulge on plant/animal life and skin. Whenever I saw something that triggered this phobia, it usually bothered me for only a few minutes, maybe an hour tops.

 

Then I stumbled upon an image of a lamprey tongue Photoshopped inside of a human eye (DO NOT GOOGLE IT if you have this phobia), and it messed me up for a few days, so I began researching the other night.

 

For the past 36 hours or so, my skin has been crawling, and I can't stop scratching! I even struggled to sleep last night. I would keep researching for possible remedies, but I don't think that I'm up for the temporary anguish that it will cause. Even the word "trypophobia" makes me cringe!

 

To those who have this affliction, what gives you relief? I think that using a grate to file off lotus pods and other revolting triggers could be therapeutic. What do you think?

I don't have that, and I'm very happy about that and feel sorry for you, I hope you find some people to talk about it with, I just feel that here you are more likely to encounter morons who want to post images and fuck with you is all.

For some reason, those don't bother me. However, if you Photoshop a nest's pattern onto human skin or an eye, that would kill me.
