Below I have (what I believe) to be a multtasklng, video rendering, game playing monster...Couple of things:
  1. I know the Power Supply is overkill, but I may upgrade to the 9590 soon (big maybe), and I also plan on triple SLI'ing the 780's at some point..,along with adding in 2 more 4 terabyte NAS Drives.
  2. This computer is going to be used for very heavy multi-tasking, and media rendering....which is why I chose (intentionally) on the FX-8350

I am open to suggestions.

3 way SLi is a bad idea on the AM3+ platform

the gpu will be running like x16/x8/x8

the other 2 GPU will get bottlenecked

there was a guy in PCPartPicker who have the AMD 9590 build with dual 780Ti

and when he changed to the i7 4790K

he gain like a massive 20-30fps for all games

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

im not really looking for an intel platform at the moment...as the notes said amd is an intetional chosen...I can't spend 500+ on a cpu and motherboard combo without loosing something here...which I really dont want to sacrifice.

. . .

Depending on budget X79 is usually a much better platform for building systems that have heavy gpu and / or cpu loads.

A separate NAS box is generally a better option when large amounts of storage are required.

The extra fans seem like an utter waste. The case comes with 4 fans and the X61 adds two more.

A little more detail is required before detailed comments would make sense. More detail on workload and budget to start.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

well do you think an i7 will be enough to video encode, stream movies to an xbox, and run a game all at the same time? That's my only reasoning behind a FX processor is for the multitasking.

as of now the i7 Core or the Xeon will outperform what the FX could do

i taking about the Quad Core version

I am not really trying to go any higher then 3,000 dollars give or take a couple hundred dollars.

The Workload:

As I said in the above text is for heavy video encoding, along with heavy dvd ripping (external dvd burner), and light gaming. Streaming movies to an xbox will always be going pretty much.

The Hard drive Configuration:

4 TB - 2 TB for pictures (alot of family pics) & 2 TB for music (huge music library)

4 TB - Movie Collection

4 TB - Backup (1 Terabyte backup for laptop, 1 TB backup for main computer, 1 TB backup for other computer, 1 TB for computer related applications in case of accident and need to reinstall)

1 TB SSD - For games, operating system, programs, and anything else.

I would get a Pre-built NAS system but by the time I buy a case that can support 5 hard drives in it (2 more 4 TB in the future) it gets really spendy.

Fans:

The ones that come with the case and the cooler are going to be put in storage....I like my case quiet...those rosewill fans are quieter then the stock ones on either the case or the cooler, and they have better airflow...my case fans will all match (its part of the looks I am going for).

Thats not bad only 150.00 more, I really don't have a budget on this...I have a laptop at the moment and it will last me till I can get this built, I can always add more money in if I have to. Will that graphics card be able to support all 3 monitors while gaming?

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.
