PC upgrade

Deaddz

Hey, guys. I have a question. Currently I have my APU and a GTX 760. I'm looking to get the ASrock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer and a 4770k. But for the same price I can upgrade my CPU to a Athlon x4 750k and get a EVGA GTX 770 superclocked. Which shall I do?

CPU: Intel Devil's Canyon i7 4790k | GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760 (will get 880) | MoBo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 | Keyboard: Razer Anansi | Drives: SanDisk 120GB SSD, 1TB Toshiba 7200RPM HDD

I would get the new mobo and Intel CPU, I don't know how the Athlon performs though, all I can say is that you'll get a better balanced (and performing) system with the new mobo and CPU and a 760.

After writing the top part, I looked at the Athlon and my answer hasn't changed.

CPU : Intel Core i7 3960X, Mobo : X79-UD3, Memory : 4x4GB Vengeance Black Memory 1600MHz, GPU : Asus GTX 970 Strix, Case : Switch 810 Matte Black, Storage : 256GB Samsung 830 SSD, Seagate Barracuda 1TB, PSU : Thermaltake 750W 80+ Bronze, Displays : 3x Asus 1080p Screens, Cooling : Corsair H100i, Keyboard : Logitech G710+, Mouse : Madcat Cyborg R.A.T.7, Sound : Sennheiser HD598, V-Moda Crossfade LP, Logitech Z-5500, HMD : Oculus Rift CV1

Is it possible for you to get a i5 and the 770 instead of the i7 or do you actually need the i7? (I mean if you sell your old parts)

CPU: i5 4570 - GPU: R9 270 - Motherboard: MSI Z87 G41 - Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro - PSU: EVGA 500W Bronze - RAM: Kingston FuryX 2x4 GB

4690K+ Z97 and a 770?

I would recommend a 760 sli over 770's cost. I understand sli issues, but that is my opinion.

Really? I saw something online that only 1 GPU was used in some game/program. Isn't a 770 cheaper than dual 760s?

No, the thing is he already HAS a 760. So if he got a 770, than he would need to find a new home for the 760. So why not sli it, OR sell it and get one powerful GPU.

I think we've found a solution, sell the 760, get a 4690k and a Z97 and have a 770!

It's cool. If he goes for 770, he can put the 760 in another PC, or sell it. Otherwise, just SLI the card.
