Again, I come to you guys with another challenge!

So I am looking for someway to have internet on the road while we live in our new RV. We looked into T-mobile and they said that we would only have 5 GB of data to spend a month, but that won't do, because my family plays a lot of online games, and as you may already know, this is unacceptable. We also looked into a Verizon service called millicompt or millicomft but they told us the same thing. Only 5 GB of data to share. Do you guys have anything that you use, or any service that gives unlimited mobile data for use on multiple computers at once?

Look around for an unlimited contract, generally you will have to sign up to a 2 year contract to get unlimited data

So i will get unlimited data for the mobile hotspot, or is that just for the phone? Because it seems that no one does that anymore.

Well some places let you get contract mobile dongles so that might be an option

Here in the UK most 4G/lte contracts are limited, where 3G contracts are unlimited

Well now that makes sense. Everything is better in the UK isn't it? I just took a look, and none of the american mobile companies do that.

No, we are actually quite bad when it comes to tech :(

hmm I figured it would be similar, I guess not

EDIT: tmobile usa has unlimited data on its personal contracts, try call them

here http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans $80 a month unlimited 4g contract

also

they do a family plan with unlimited data

T-mobile was one the first places i called today, and they told me that I could upgrade my phones, without a contract and they would add unlimited to my phone. The only problem is, the don't do unlimited for the mobile hotspot. Like Verizon and Sprint, the only offer 5GB of mobile hotspot data...

Use your phone as a hotspot

Or you could just take the sim out and put it into a pay as you go dongle (should work)

That's strange that they will only give you 5GB for a hot spot...

The UK does suck for tech the prices are stupidly high compared to the states and although I get 4G/LTE with my Orange/EE contract free and cheap I still feel the UK doesn't have 3G coverage in enough places to start rolling out 4G in the same places.

I would look into getting a dongle or just keep ringing round companies, I don't know all the American carriers but I'm sure one will have something, surely they can't all just say no 5GB limit on hotspots.

Most companies that offer a dongle nowadays are based in the UK. Are there any differences in wifi? Does it run on the same system as our wifi network?

That sucks because it's expensive here for mobile wifi (Mifi) Basically a dongle just takes a phone signal 3G/4G and uses that to allow your PC to connect to the internet.

You going to be gaming while on the move or stationary? Because if you are stationary you could always try to find a free wifi if you have much of that over there.

Yeah, the plan was to gaming on the go, but I may just have to sacrifice that.

You don't have to scrap that really, you can take a router and create a LAN and play locally but this depends on what you want to play.

Take a router and create a LAN party? How do I do that? Oh wait.... My laptop doesn't have ethernet... And it would be a pain to buy a brand new one.

I would still like to know how the LAN party works.

This kind of explains both

Save that for later... Thanks for your help. This will help for my next PC in the coming years. I imagine something will present itself in time.

You're welcome, you don't need to buy a network card though because as you know mobo's have an Ethernet port. It's worth maybe trying to experiment with set ups in the RV before you go to see what works.
