Hello,

I'm planning a gaming build right now. I have most of the parts set up for now, but I need help with some parts:

GPU: Should I pick the 780Ti or Dual 770s?

HSF: Should I go for Noctua NH-D15 or NH-U14S? Or perhaps a water cooling option such as the H80i?

SSD and HDD: I want to have about 128GB of SSD storage and 4TB of HDD storage. Any specific ones I should go for?

PSU: I'm not sure which one to pick. I could use some help with that.

Case: This one is a real problem, since I don't have much room. My current case is 50cm (19.68 inches) high. Pictures attached. I can't take a full tower because of that. Any suggestions?

The rest of the build is as following:

CPU: Intel i7 4790K

Motherboard: Asus Z97-PRO

RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares

OS: Windows 8.1

I can spend about 1800USD.

I also want to buy a monitor, but that isn't urgent. My current monitor is working perfectly, but it's 1280*1024 and I want to upgrade to 1920*1080.

Thanks!

Single 780Ti

NH-D15

Samsung 840 EVO and either 2x 2TB Seagate Barracudas or 1x 4TB Seagate Barracuda, or you can go for WD Blacks to squeeze more performance. Get whatever's cheaper (2x 2TB/1x 4TB).

Any 550W+ will do fine, but for a build like this I'd go safe and go for a 600W+ 80+ Bronze/Gold PSU. The Cooler Master V650 is a good pick.

Fractal Design Define R4, Corsair 450D... It's all subjective.

CPU: Intel i5 4570 | Cooler: Cooler Master TPC 812 | Motherboard: ASUS H87M-PRO | RAM: G.Skill 16GB (4x4GB) @ 1600MHZ | Storage: OCZ ARC 100 480GB, WD Caviar Black 2TB, Caviar Blue 1TB | GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 | ODD: ASUS BC-12D2HT BR Reader | PSU: Cooler Master V650 | Display: LG IPS234 | Keyboard: Logitech G710+ | Mouse: Logitech G602 | Audio: Logitech Z506 & Audio Technica M50X | My machine: https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/b/JoJ

Hi SandSpider2234, kind of agree with ZacDaMan72's opinions on WD Black drives. As to my knowledge, WD Black is specifically built for performance and reliability in gaming experience which you need. Also, I would recommend RAID 0 with 2*2TB WD Red which can give speed if you plan to use RAID. Hope it helps.

Dual 770's may perform better than a single GTX 780 Ti but the 780 Ti will likely meet your needs and you can always add a second if you need to.

An air tower cpu cooler will be quieter with performance close to the H80i. Your choice depends in part on the case you choose.

SSD go with an inexpensive name brand. The performance differences between models are not perceptible in real world gaming or general desktop use. Get the biggest ssd that fits in the budget.

I generally suggest a WD Blue or Seagate Barracuda for general desktop storage. WD Black are high performance drives. The difference between a Black and Blue in gaming and general desktop use is not generally perceptible.

A 650W psu should be sufficient. I would suggest one of SeaSonic SSR-650RM, XFX P1-650B-BEFX, Corsair HX650, or SeaSonic SS-650KM.

Most ATX mid-towers should fit. Check the dimensions of the Fractal Design Core 2300, Node 804, Arc Midi R2; Nzxt H440; Phanteks Enthoo Pro. Another option would be to go with an mATX build and case.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
