Okay to start here is the issue I currently have I have a h100 cooler and it does a awesome job however the thing that bugs me is the pump noise. You can hear it above everything else on my system I had originally bought it a while back because it allowed me to use taller memory which was less expensive however at this point I'm considering maybe moving to something else I know they aren't meant to last forever. I'd just like feedback and suggestions if all possible here is my spec list.

If I go with a large air cooler I'd have to get new ram and the new cooler is what I'm stuck on.

I dont know that much about the h100, but I dont think that theres much to do about the pump noise. If you're interested in an air cooler, go with the Noctua NH-D14. You'll probably get close, or around the same temps as your h100, but you would have to get new RAM.

Yea I'll check with Corsair. I would love to go with the NH-D14 I just don't think I could stomach buying new ram and a cooler right now.

Yeah, another, cheaper option would be to use your Cougar fans, and get the Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo, and do push pull with your fans. It wouldnt be as good as the Noctua, and youd still have to buy Ram, but it would be $50+ cheaper than the Noctua.

look into the Zalman LQ series liquid coolers, i have the LQ315, its the medium option cooler / rad and i would recommend this one or the deeper rad version if you have room. and use your cougar fans on the top as exhausts as the LQ315 mounts nicely on the back.

Linus also has a video of this cooler, and your ram looks fine,

i heard lots of the Corsair h100 have noisey pumps, i never had one so can't comment personally on them but i do love my Zalman cooler, its so neat and also quiet and pretty good build quality.

got to love Asus components

I'm awfully tempted to get a lower profile ram kit and then buying a NH-D14. However, what worries me is this. The next time I upgrade will probably be around the time of Skylake which is the major performance upgrade after Haswell. Which will have DDR4 to my knowledge so that will be a good time to change everything. I'm submitted a ticket to corsair and hopefully they can help me. Never know they may end up sending me a h100i since they may no longer be making the h100 :P

Turns out I talked to customer service and they are going to exchange my h100 for a h100i. So I'm pretty excited for that :)

That's the way to do it!  I have an H100i and I lucked out, it makes no noise whatsoever.  You really have to strain to hear the pump.  Good build BTW.

Thank you much sir :) Yea I'm really excited I really like the tubing much better with the h100i. They just want the unit and the fans the rest they don't care about so woot. Yea I heard some people talk about the pump noise but I'm hoping to advert that. I mean its pretty bad when you have a silent pc in the Fractal Design Define R4 and you can hear the pump. Just wish I could change my motherboards PCB color. How cool would it be if you bought the motherboards from the manufacture and you could decide on the color of the pcb.
