EDIT: Problem solved. Windows had to be reinstalled, DDU was not enough apparently. Windows 7 reinstall fixed the issue and my 290 is back in action.

Hello.

Tried to launch CSGO yesterday which resulted in screen going black first and then "no signal" message appeared. Rebooted but after windows logo got a black screen but did not receive the same message so I suppose black screen was the signal. Couldn't get a signal with iGPU either and switching DVI-cables fixed this. Tried if it fixed the 290 and it did not. After removing the GPU I got the system to boot with iGPU and am now in windows so that works.

The GPU is in but it's not "on" per say, I can see it in device manager, GPU-Z and Afterburner but all the sensor data in Z and afterburner are zero. Hardware monitor does not detect the GPU at all.

I've deleted all old drivers and reinstalled new ones twice now to no avail, next up thinking of reinstalling windows but at that point I'd rather just sell the card and get a 760 / 770 or something.

Any ideas what to do next?

All replies are appreciated :)

have you done this?

http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/display_driver_uninstaller_download.html

use it to uninstall the drivers

then install the AMD 14.4 drivers

do it while using the onboard

shut down

install the GPU

boot up PC

It looks a lot like a loose 6pin. Check the connection to the psu, it happened to me a couple of times but it was easy to troubleshoot because my card has a led that glows red instead of green if a power cable isn't inserted correctly.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Did this. The card is now detected as "VGA-standard graphics card" (Translated). Any ideas?

So the card booted into windows in the first place before csgo?  Also are you installing the drivers from the disc or their website?

The card booted into windows logo and after that went blank the very first time.

Drivers are from website. 14.4 for Windows 7 64-bit.

Have reinserted the power connectors several times now with repeated GPU installs.

I managed to revive the thing  :P

I figured it did not make much sense for the card to be dead because it could display the signal just fine until after the windows logo; the problem was with windows. Made a backup and reinstalled W7 and my 290 rose from the dead.  :)

Just wanted to let you know, thanks for your help!
