A new 20-year agreement to purchase the output of a 175-megawatt wind farm in Pilot Hill, Illinois was announced this week by Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), marking its second major 100+ megawatt commitment in under a year.

So MS have purchased green power for their Chicago data center,  Not only good for the environment but as one of the world's largest cloud data centers, a 20 year contract indicates just how long  MS expects to be operating such centers.

Hey, maybe they will start a trend with companies switching over to wind-energy. Definitely the best thing they have done recently, +1 Microsoft.
