So i have here an acer motherboard and im trying to update the bios of it because im having problems. Now what i did is i go to the product support of it, the product is aspire x1470. Downloaded the latest bios and when i click the flash.bat file nothing happens it just prompts me with uac? Any body here that can help me?

Yes, well you don't click on the file to update your bios. To update the BIOS, save the file somewhere you know how to navigate to via file names.

 

Enter your BIOS and go to tools (or where it says something like EZBios update) and click it and then navigate to your new BIOS file and then load it,

It doesnt have anything like that. It has a windows tool to update but as ive said it wont go through.

its an acer oem, its from their aspire desktop

Download CPU-Z to find out your MB. When you enter the BIOS is it a Blue Theme, What do you see?  unless you have software wich comes with the OEM MB to update the Bios when in your OS, you need to find how to update in your bios.
