Jump to content

Restart the Windows 7 install and delete all current partitions (of the SSD). Select the SSD disk and press next. Windows will try to make new partition.

 

If all else fail and you have the possiblity: hook up the SSD to another system and format it.

you need to load the ide/sata drivers from the motherboard disk when it asks you which hard drive to install to.

win7 should be able to load to an unformatted drive (creating a partition as part of the process... If it's the case that the drive already has a partition, there may not be space for a "system reserved" partition, in which case, on the screen where it asks you where to install, click on drive options(advanced) and delete all partitions, until it just says unallocated space, and then click next. this should create a usable partition. There are tools you can use to set up over provisioning later.
