Cliffjumper - Black/Red Obsidian 350D

FrankTheTank

So I'm tired of my current CM Elite 130 mITX build and my i5 4670K and GTX780 are moving into a bigger home.
Yes it's gonna be a very original black/red Obsidian build :D

Going to use a Swiftech H220 that I still have laying around for cooling EK-Supremacy - Copper - Plexi with the addition of another 240mm rad to cool my Asus GTX 780. Will be using EK-BAY RES D5 Vario with pump to get it all flowing.

Personally, I would have gone with Mayhem fluid concentrate.

Depend on my orders and if they have much delay or not...can't promise anything!

I shall be waiting for the pics.

Thank you for the sub sir! You will now be known as Subsir-o!

Is that the fluid you add to your water, sort of color dye?

So I've got some parts in today:

2n8zw46.jpg

First needed to salvage some old and newer stuff from my older cases, forgot that the CM Elite 130 was a tight fit for my GTX 780:

2qc3sjl.jpg

Let's try a testfit with the Swiftech H220 and my new Maximus VII Gene:

28s3q6w.jpg

Only got one problem as you might have seen with the above picture: I'm missing one of my screws :( these are hard to come by. If anybody has any idea where I can get this in the Netherlands (or Belgium/Germany), that would be great! It's the 1155 screw for the Swiftech H220.

Last question for y'all: Is this normal or should I do something about it, looks like a thunderbolt?

That CPU block might have gotten a little toasty at one point in time.

Had my old X6 1055T OC'ed for a while, so that could have caused it. I suspect it won't give me any problems, we'll see.

Got some little work done. Ran out of parts for now, so I'll have to wait to get my new parts. Didn't think it through, because I already empties my Swiftech H220 and tosted the coolant away. Since my WC-parts are in backorder, I have no real cooling... DOH <_<

Atleast my 4670k is feeling comfy:

2zi9g5k.jpg

It's gonna be a tight fit with the Maximus VII Gene coolblock:

2aim3bd.jpg

Got lucky with the missing screw from my H220. It seems that the mounting screws from my Corsair H80 fit perfectly (although they're bronze-color, so I need to paint them if I deside to keep using them):

Currently working on a shrout so I don't have to buy a new PSU (already had most of the parts in house). Will post some pics in a few hours.

I'm a cheapskate, so I decided instead of buying a new PSU that would fit my case (currently: TX750m), I would try and make a shrout out of plexiglass/acrylic!

It's still Work in Progress, currently I'm painting it, so expect the final update soon.

First I made a mock-up out of some thin wood/cartbox I still had lying around don't mind the holes, they were in the wood:

ezr0b4.jpg

Gotta love duct tape:

ixgnx1.jpg

Let's see how she fits:

35kqyh1.jpg

Time to make the real thing:

6jocw0.jpg

That's it for now. I test-fitted the whole thing, but forgot to take a picture. I'm going to paint it (currently working on it) and report back to you guys with the final result.

For more details on the Shrout, I've made a new topic in Case Modding

I will answer more specific questions there.

New parts will arrive tomorrow, but still have to wait untill next week for the watercooling-stuff.

Got some parts and a finished shroud today folks!

Let's start off with some parts that were delivered:

Big bertha got installed today, she's a big girl!

34dsq5v.jpg

Also got some parts in from MDPC-X:

24wecfq.jpg

Giggity!

O yeah, there was something in the envelop as well! Ordered way too much!

okbomw.jpg

Those were the orders that came in, only waiting for my watercooling parts

And now for the finished shroud! Can't decide if I want to light the whole thing, got two pictures:

2vua2hd.jpg

muh3jp.jpg

I'm happy and unhappy with the final result. The shroud itself is a good fit and looks good, but the lettering is kinda sucky. Gonna redo the whole thing when the build is finished. Somebody already said that angled letters don't seem to fit and I kinda agree on that. But I've learned a lot making this for a first time and I think I'll do a better job when the whole build is finished. Don't know if I'm going to install some light so the text lights up, but I've got some time before this build is done.

So I've done some sleeving this weekend. Only got a picture taken with my for now:

28br9sl.jpg

Still waiting on my GFX-card waterblock. Also need to order some extension-cables.

Two of my fan-cables are too short to get them connected to the PWM-splitter. Also need a 6- and 8-pin cable for my GFX-card, because I'm too lazy to rewire them so they look correct. Going to sleeve them though.
