Short version: I want 5 hard drives in a Corsair 450D. The hard drive cage used in the 450D is the same one as the carbide 600T, 750D, and a few other cases. The problem is it's $10 for the cage, then $5 each for the 3 trays. So, instead, I was wondering if anyone happened to have both a 450D/750D/600T and a 550D who could tell me: Do the screw holes on the 550D cage line up with the holes on the 450D cage? I know there are bits of metal that would cause spacing issues, but I'm more curious about whether the screwholes are horizontally aligned.

 

The reason why? Because of the 550D's cage design, if the screw holes line up, I can buy a 450D, and a spare 550D cage, put the 550D cage on bottom and screw the 450D cage onto the top of it and have everything remain rigid and wonderful.

 

For those wondering why I care about the 550D cage, because the 550D cage comes with both the cage *and* the trays for $10 total.

I have a 550D but don't have access to a 450D, there also are less than 5 people on this forum with a 550D so the likelihood that someone has both is low.

Fair...Could you be bothered to take a photograph with a millimeter ruler under/near the holes? Realistically I just need a shot of the top edge where those two screw holes are, nothing else. That way I can go to Micro Center with my own tape measurer, a picture, and determine for myself they are spaced the same. :)

To be clear you want a picture of the screw holes on the bottom of the 550D HDD cage?

Hi. So...I just realized, that photo you gave me shows the screw holes on the side of the cage (where one would secure the HD to keep the tray from being removed). I meant the screw holes on the front (where you insert the trays into the cage). Can I bother you for another photo? Specifically:
