What is the cpu socket ?

I suggest you go on pcpartpicker.com. Amd find your parts . Then it makes it easyer for us and you :)

That is 1150 socket. 

 

A new 4690 or a 4670 for the cpu. a 780 for Gpu or maybe the 770

 

wow srry my bad 4690 is not a option. that is for the z97 and h97

I totally agree with these choices. But depending on what the pc is ment to be used for. Maybe a 770 with a K serie cpu for overclocking

I looked through the search results for i3, i5 and i7. There are literally no 4th gen processors, meaning no processors compatible with your motherboard from that site. I looked through all the motherboards and didn't find a single H87 motherboard.

the mobo is a h61M-k from asus

any advice on this one?
