MineCraft Plugin Help

I have been running a small server for a few years now, and never ran into any problems. There was always a lot of lag when playing remotely, but i always thought that was because i had horrible internet.

 

I got an upgrade, and everything was fantastic. Until i noticed that MC pulled about 750Kbps/player. Upon furthur investigation, i found that more than one player enjoys raising chickens. (think THOUSANDS) of chickens.

 

Is there any mods available that would limit the number of NPCs? or at least stop natural breeding?

idk, but you could kick/ban that player from your server since you are the admin

Combined with my friend we have hosted multiple minecraft server for over 6 years. we know about 100 plugins and have coded many. there are many different kinds of NPC clearing type plugins, "No lag" or other variants can clear hostile mobs and or peaceful. I believe you can set how many u want it to stay under, and how oftain you want it to clear them (i would set it to like ever hour) because if you clear mobs like ever 5 mins like some servers then it no fun because you cant really play, mobs keep like despawning. anyways i just texted my friend to ask for any other plugins, if he has some ill let you know.

 

never mind, he says that you can use "NoLagg", how ever you need BKcommonlib. other then that you should be good, all the options are in the .config file and are fairly streight forward, like essentials.
