I have the Corsair HS40 headset, and there is an issue with the microphone. When I'm using the microphone to record or talk to other people, there is a slight buzzing sound. This is not on the software, because when I put my finger on the motherboard, the buzzing stops? I have done some research about this and is a common issue with USB headsets. I have tried everything and nothing stops the buzzing except me touching the computer?

Try rear I/O and the case USB extensions, see if it happens for both.

I have tried that already yesterday, and the front panel ones were actually worse? Also, when I touch my case, the buzzing stops a bit but not not completely.

Your computer isn't grounding right then, try you computer off a differ wall outlet, better if in a different part off the house.

I can't really move my pc anywhere else because I don't have much room for my big desk anywhere else. Are there any other ways I can ground my pc?

You dont have to move the whole desk, just the desktop and stuff to test if its your outlet.

Is there a way for me to ground the case while I'm using the computer? I don't have any other usb headsets to try this with either :/

Use a copper wire wrapped around a screw on your case to the screw holding your outlet together.

Be very careful with that, one slip and you have 230/110v on you

I tried and it didn't work. I cut off the ends of the cable and tried and there was no difference, it only worked if I touched the end of the wire, I even stuck it to the heat pipes on my radiator :(

Are you able to solder? Get a usb female part, and wire data and power to seperate male plugs. Plug your headphone in the female part.

Then plug the power end in a usb charger, the data one in the PC.

Haven't tried it myself, don't know if it's work. There is a chance, worth a try?

That sounds like a similar suggestion I saw earlier which was to use a separately powered USB hub? I have no experience with soldering so I wouldn't be able to follow your suggestion even though it seems like it would work.

While I'm not saying you shouldn't be careful around open outlets, it's really not that dangerous. I've been shocked a few times and the worst part is the headache after the adrenaline buzz goes away.

Heavily depends on your body resistance. Some aren't as lucky to survive a 230v shock.

It's likely that ShearMe is talking about the 120V because Merica can't be like the rest of the world and have 230v outlets.

Oh, yeah, 120.

110V will kill as quick as 240v,  It only takes 30mA to stop the heart or to cause fibrillation.

240 is more dangerous; more voltage equals more current (with the same resistance). But if your body resistance is low enough, 110v will kill just as quick indeed.

as moose just said, it's not the current that matters, but the actual power, as in amps.
