RAM Installation NEED HELP!

Ok so i just got my new RAM and I was going to upgrade my current RAM in my PC.

I have 2x4gb sticks and I'm switching up to 2x8gb sticks.

Do I just turn off the computer, pull out the old RAM and put in the new RAM?

Is it really that simple or is there anything else I need to do?

Can't seem to find a short quick guide on this, any help?

Yes, it's that simple.

 

edit: switch your power supply to off just incase

make sure to flip the psu switch aswell

One last thing, make sure you ground yourself by touching the outside of your PSU while it's plugged in but turned off. RAM is one the parts that's easier to kill with static. Although to be honest I've never followed safety that much and never killed any part via electrostatic discharge.

i've never heard of anybody actualy killing anything with static to be honest yet everytime they say to discharge...
