so hey im back for the past 2 years lets say my hdd was not performing that well(wd green 7500AADS) the light is on alot of times, its slow, games are starting to run like s*** when pagefile takes over...heck i even think its dying i just have enough of it...so i really need an ssd...now my ''problem'' is i have a gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H mobo which only supports sata 2(is this all that relevant even?)..oh and also im kinda broke might only be able to scrap up like 70€... so what options do i have? also do i need to buy a different cable or something for an ssd?

sata 2 which limits the data transfer rate of an ssds does only bottleneck noticeably when you are doing sequential reads and writes, meaning copying data back and forth.

in a normal daily usage scenario you only do a very limited number of writes and the reads are not sequential but random (f.e. when loading a map in a game or starting an application), meaning that sata 2 will still be enough to get good performance out of an ssds.

for the best bang for the buck suiting your budget Id recommend the Crucial MX100 (128GB)
