It is creating a ram disk for fast cache of recently used files. If you use less than 8gb of your ram then you can enable it to get crazy speeds of 3GBps+

It will use up your ram (not sure how much or if you can set how much) and in case of power loss anything on that cache will be lost.

If you have frequent power outages and no UPS I suggest you dont use it. Otherwise it should be fine and will give you a great performance boost.

I've gone over this in other threads and the read the white paper on it. With the way its implemented there should be no issues even with power failure. You can get 1GB/s+ in short bursts. And it uses as much ram as it needs of your free ram. So it will scale down as to not cause issues when needed.

This looks a little lot over 1GBps, no?

It does. Not what I've seen in my testing though. I do have a 250GB 840evo and a 256GB 840 pro though not 1tb. Also I did a 2 or 4 GB size if I recall. System ram is 16GB for both systems.

I love clicking the benchmark on mine to see how stupid high the numbers go. I have the 1TB EVO and 32GB ram... I don't even bother with ASUS Ram Disk.
