are all these components compatible with each other?

Are all these PC parts compatible and is it a good PC?

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 (do not feel the need for overclocking)

RAM/memory: G.Skill Ares F3-2133C11D-8GAO 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Chassis Black

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W B2 Power Supply

motherboard: MSI Z97 G55 SLI Motherboard

operating system: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64bit OEM

disk drive: Samsung SH-224DB 24x DVDRW OEM

hard drive/HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003

Graphics cardS: MSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming Edition OC 2GB (2 going to run SLI)

Is this a powerful system and is it all compatible, or should i go with a single GTX 780, and then upgrade in the future to GTX 780 SLI?

Yes, I will work fine. The people who are looking at this and saying that he doesn't need a Z97 board don't realize that it's hard to find a non-z chipset board with sli.

Looks fine to me but 1600mhz memory is fine

And I would save some money and go for the 780/780ti and not sli

And i would swap the hdd to a wd blue because seagates tend to die a little faster.

If you're not going to oc you could get a 4670/4570 and z87 board and save a bit of money, since devils canyon is only really advantageous if you're overclockon since they run a bit cooler and the chips are more consistent.

I would personally go for a single 780, although you could also go with a single 290.

Oh, and get an ssd.
