So this is my introduction. I am new to building pcs, I think this is a perfect community to get feed back for me and so I can learn. Aside from me going on and on about me being new to this here is what i have currently for my rig and what I have to run it like mouse key board ect. so let me know what you guys think in terms of comments on what I have and what I should do.

Corsair 230t

Msi a46g (from what I can remember)

An amd 8350 and a cooler master CPU cooler

Msi GeForce gtx 760 twin frozer

2 8gb crucial ballistic 1600 ram

Pny 120 gb ssd

Wd 1tb hdd

Link PCI wireless

Corsair psu 600w builders edition

Both mouse and key board are made by gigabyte from what ive heard and experienced are very solid and durable.

My bench marks are very good with every game on ultra. far cry3 with 60-70 on average bio shock goes to way higher at 150 on average and pay day 2 is 130 with out ever going below. I am very surprised with my set up it being an amd I was expecting it to be much slower than most Intels but for some reason I saw that it still the same some times better.

My quest for a monitor...

I am with out a monitor. I have been using a 55 inch lg tv with horrible response timing, it's making me crazy. I've been looking at asus monitors and they seem great but the reviews say they have bad screens and that they have green pixels through out the screen. Some say that the screens have some glitch with them. Anyway if any this is true please help me out and give me feedback. If this is a problem with many of you my budget is 150 and lower, no higher I am saving up to have two of them and later on 3.

Thanks in advance if you have read this far and for the feed back.

Welcome friend :)

may i suggest reposting in the Build Logs section or the New builds/Planning sections? General discussion is a little out of place for this :)

You have very nice specs for your PC. It'd be cool to see pictures of the build.

As for the monitor, ASUS makes really high grade monitors. I have never personally heard of the green stuck pixel issue. In fact, i've heard almost nothing but praise of ASUS monitors. They are a little more expensive than other brands (i.e Acer, Viewsonic, LG) and perform similarly however. I couldn't find an ASUS monitor that had decent response times and a good panel for under $150, but it found an Acer one here: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umwh6aa002

Hope this helps :)

Welcome to the forum :) & congrats on your first post,

About the monitor, Do you have any preference? Screen size,Viewing angles, Extreme response etc. Post back.

I prefer something a little bigger because... Well why not. The response time I want to be as fast as possible, 5ms is ok I guess but I've seen some asus monitors go for around 164 that have 1ms so I would compromise on anything below 5 though. Viewing angles doesn't matter too much to me because I will only be looking at it when sitting due to a confined desk and places to walk around the desk.

Thank you and yes asus is preferred but if it's cheaper it kind of makes up for it being different so I guess acer, like the one in the link will do fine. Anything is better than what I have now lol.

ASUS makes a wide range of monitors. I'm currently using one of their PB238Q monitors and it's fantastic.

Not really, we're mostly liberal for the most part :P Just don't double or triple post the same thing.

ASUS VS238H-P

Asus VS247H-P

Have a look into those, it's a bit pricy(10-19$ extra from 150 limit) but it's worth that extra money. especially when you consider other specs along with it. :) pm me or post back if you want more reccommendations.

Details separate people.

Ummm sure recommendations would be nice. I'm not so educated on the monitors side of gaming so sure any thing really. Also here is what I've been looking at. Let me know if it's bad or good. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DWITHI/ref=asc_df_B008DWITHI3205515?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=pg-448-94-20&linkCode=df0&creative=395097&creativeASIN=B008DWITHI
