There aren't any drawbacks to reusing RAM that I know of... It's safe.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

When using RAM With unknown history or long storage in unsuitable containers please run Memtest86+ to ensure that the memory is still good.

yeah and if youre using more than one make sure the are the same frequency

provided the RAM you intent to use is not DDR2

 

yes you are fine with using DDR3 1066MHz RAM

 

to clean the contacts

 

a trusty pencil eraser(yes) may do the trick

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

That really doesn't matter, it'll just be at the lowest frequency

i know, but that way he wont have a weaker ram botllenecking a better ram :P
