Budget & Location: $800 in Usa --- Aim: This Build is for my mom all she will be doing is using the web, playing facebook games and watching some videos.--- Monitor: All ready have one so its not in the Pcpartpicker list but for the people that would like to know its Monitor: Asus VX228H 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  ......... Peripherals -- have keyboard and mouse also going to use windows 8.1 Why are you upgrading? Her old computer was some floor model Hp system that died a few months after she got it. I finally got her to let me build and new pc and the parts below is what i came up with she doesn't need much but the only thing she really wanted me to get was a ton of ram so thats what i did even if she doesn't need that much. If anyone here sees something i should fix any help would be great as this is only my 2nd pc build.

The one question i do have is should I stay with the asrock board in my build or switch to Motherboard: Asus A88XM-PLUS/CSM Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ?

She will barely be able to use 8gb doing that stuff lol, save a bit of money. Asus is a better brand of motherboard but my mates haven't had issues with Asrock

For your mom's purpose I highly recommend using intel due to low power consumption

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($184.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI H97M-E35 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($139.99 @ Micro Center)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($84.98 @ OutletPC)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($34.99 @ NCIX US)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer  ($14.99 @ NCIX US)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($89.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $722.79

One thing I don't know is why are your mom using 16 GB of RAM for web, fb games, videos,.... Unless she opens like 20+ chrome tabs and 10+ apps, it's a waste of money

My current rig for entertainment/gaming: i5 4570 3,2GHz; MSI B85M-E45; ZOTAC GTX760 AMP!; 8GB (2x4GB) by Kingston; Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm; Corsair 200R, Corsair VS650; Dell U2312HM, Samsung DVD R/W optical drive; CM Devastator; Corsair MM400 gaming pad

Local hole in the wall pc store was doing and deal that made the amd processor $60 cheaper then the I5 and with my mom insisting on the 16gb of ram it made sense to go with that. Had I got her to lower to 8gb of ram i would have used that savings to get an i5. As for editing she might use Photoshop some but most likely wont make a dent to the 16gb but thats what she wants.

Stay with the APU but get the 7700. She probably won't OC and doesn't need that big of a GPU. She could literally get away with 4 GB of RAM, but 8 is more than enough.
