So is it okay to get like a 1TB mSATA and use that as your main drive on your motherboard. I'm trying to free up space in my 750D for mods and stuff.

The mSATA slot is right behind my GPU which blows out a lot of hot air, will this hurt it any?

As long as it is not melting, it will be fine. I would around 75C should be fine.

Whats not melting, the motherboard isnt but its blowing out 75-80° air

Why not get a 500GB SSD and a 1TB HDD?

Because ill never fill up 1TB, I could get along with a single 750GB Drive

If you can do it, I would get  a single 1TB mSATA SSD.

Why wouldnt you do a 500GB PCIE drive and a HDD. The PCIE drive is going to ready at speeds around 700MB/s

The PCIe SSD will consume more space as well as being more expensive. I would get it if you don't mind it taking up a slot. What PCIe SSD are you getting?

Looking at a Revodrive 3 which was one of the few OCZ Revodrive iterations that didnt have a ton of failures but I've been thinking and I could also get a 1TB or even a 500GB OWC Mercury PCI-E SSD brand new, they have higher speeds and are reliable as far as I have seen.

Thoughts?

Looking at a Revodrive 3 which was one of the few OCZ Revodrive iterations that didnt have a ton of failures but I've been thinking and I could also get a 1TB or even a 500GB OWC Mercury PCI-E SSD brand new, they have higher speeds and are reliable as far as I have seen.

Thoughts?

I personally am not a fan of the RevoDrives because they are just a bunch of SSDs in connected to a RAID controller and they don't use a direct PCIe connection which mean that they are not as fast as other PCIe SSDs. The OWC Mercury just seems to be M.2 SSDs on a board so they would perform well. I would take a look at the Intel P3500 PCIe SSD. It is a super fast SSD that can configured to be a boot drive and has a low initialization time on system start up. It is a more expensive than the other options but it will perform much better than both of them. I would get either the Intel P3500 or OWC Mercury, but I am not sure of the support of the OWC drive.

The OWC works with PC, I believe its driverless. I watched the PCPer podcast on the Intel DC P0000 series a few days ago and they are interesting but like you said they are expensive. I don't know if I want to spend $1000 on the OWC one. I could spend $500 on a 240GB OWC drive and a Velocoraptor however then I'm segregating drives which I don't really want to do I like running single drives. Also wanting something future proof, both the OWC and the Intel would be this. Thoughts again, sorry for dragging this out. Don't exactly have much money.

It's fine, always happy to help. Also if you want the best price to performance, I would get a 500GB mSATA SSD and a 1TB 2.5 inch drive so it is easy to hide or maybe just a 1TB SSD.
