I have been looking at getting the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid keyboard for quite some time now, as I use some crappy economic Microsoft keyboard for my new gaming/general use rig. What I am mulling over is, if I do decide to purchase this or any other mechanical keyboard, which switch should I use? With reds and blacks you have to exert a slightly higher amount of force(mah finger are tiny) and it's a closer experience to membrane, so those are out of the question. The question is, should I go with blue or brown switches? I've heard blue are good for typing, but not so much gaming, and browns are good for both and they are quieter. Initially, I would have gone with the browns, but I've seen a lot of people gravitate towards blues. My computer is used for programming, lots of internet browsing, and lots of gaming. Which switch is the best option for me?

Thanks in advance,

I like red, nothing like membrane, IDK what you are saying.

I dislike black, to heavy.

I dislike brown, like membrane.

I like blue, nice.

I use reds.

I really like blues for the clicky feel, makes typing feel amazing! Hasn't hindered my gaming at all. If you want a more quiet experience go with the browns.

How is brown close to being membrane?

I mean, plenty of people like it, I just don't.

Not liking it do not mean you compare it to membrane.

Actually, that kind of makes sense... since membrane is so terrible.

I mean, to me it feel like membrane kinda/

I'll go with blues, then. They seem to be the most viable option.

Good choice :)

Just as a heads up be aware that some people can get annoyed by the sound. Luckily no one at my office/home cares so I get to use them without constantly trying to press as softly as possible.

I know, my friend has some blues(either that or reds) on a Razer BlackWidow 2014(Not sure that's what it is) and they are noisy as heck, but satisfying. I want a different experience than those terrible membranes as possible.

Yeah, same here. And they're probably blues since Razer doesn't use red switches (and those aren't particularly noisy).
