Two 6950s, different brands vs same brands?

I have an MSI Radeon 6950 2GB, I'm wondering if I'd see any performance difference if I crossfired with a (For example) Sapphire 6950 as opposed to another MSI 6950 (Non twin frozer II), or if a 1GB card would be fine with my 2GB 6950.
