control panel registering my overclock

Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

Intel CPUs say i5 2500K @ 3.3GHz always in Control panel

I have had a mosey through the forums but i cant find my answer so.......

CPU-INTEL i5 2500K 3.3GHz

MOTHERBOARD- ASUS P8Z77

I am just beginning to overclock my cpu and i have started with 3.3 to 3.6. I am pretty condifdent in that i know how to do this but my overlock is not registered in my control panel system settings but i can see it when using cpuz

Is this common or have i missed something along the way?

This is usually how it is. Overclocks do not get registered in Control Panel. You can see them in CPU-Z though.

when i change a OC it takes like 2 days for it to register. see what it says in the taskmanager/other programs
