When is the last time you updated your drivers? You could try rolling back your drivers, if you have recently updated.

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

Week ago or so. Not sure about that. Already restored to last restore point still happens.

I am unable to think up a whole lot of things to do. I would try re-installing the drivers for the GPU, then also check inside the PC to make sure nothing there is causing a problem. A loose cable or something of the sort, could the computer be overheating?

Nothing overheating no loose cables no leaks. Might try factory restore later if nobody has any good ideas today

Have you tried re-seating the RAM / GPU / or CPU? any of those could be a problem,

--but--

The way you are describing the crashes sounds like a HDD problem, if you have another Hard Disk try booting on that and see if you get the same result, the "scratching" could be the read/write head running over a crack or fracture on the hard drive platter.

And if that's the case good luck getting files off your old drive.
