BUDGET: 300€

LOCATION: West Europe

AIM: Web browsing, school work(word, powerpoint), some casual gaming

MONITOR: Single monitor

PERIPHERALS: Monitors, keyboard, mice and OS are not included in budget

This is a family PC and they don't want to spend a lot of money. Budget can go up a little bit, but with OS and a new monitor, the price will probably be high enough already. This is my first time picking parts, so please point out the major flaws and if there are better parts for the price, feel free to tell me.

I went with the A8-5500, since it offers some gaming capabilities, while taking a slight step back from CPU performance, but it should have any problems with what is asked from it.

I chose this motherboard because it has the possibility of adding a GPU afterwards. As for the memory, 4 gigs should be fine and if it isn't, I can just add another 4 gig stick.

No special reasons with the HDD and DVD writer. I need them both, and don't have the money for an SSD.

As for the case, it's a simple and nice looking case with some usb ports and audio on the front. Would like some more ports or a cooler looking case, but this is clean, nice and cheap.

With the power supply, I have no idea, so I definitely need some help here.

I hope I didn't miss anything and that you lovely forum folks can provide some help.

EDIT: Excuse for the dollar sign in the title, it's a little mistake.

So where exactly do you shop? Is the monitor part of the budget?

I can shop from the UK, france, belgium, luxemburg, netherlands, germany and anyone that I can import from without paying too much shipping. The monitor is NOT part of the budget, but I would like some advice on it. The current one could use an upgrade, but it'll probably need to wait a couple of months.

Nice selection of parts, room for upgrades in the future good job! For the monitor anything by Asus is normally pretty good, just look for something with a nice selection of outputs and a good resolution/build quality and you should be fine dude :)

The only thing I would suggest is that, if you can squeeze it into the budget, get 2 sticks of DDR3-1866 RAM - either 2x2Gig or 2x4Gig.

The motherboard has 4 RAM slots, so you can add more later if you only get 2x2 now. The faster 1866 (or higher) RAM and dual-channel access (by getting 2 sticks)  will boost the GPU performance of the A8

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

You can get a much nicer case and cpu if you , you know be a pirate  .

You're suggesting I go raid the hardware resellers?

Yeah, I'll look into that. The DDR3-1866 RAM was also recommended by tek syndicate, and sounds like a good idea overall.
