DT 880s or something else?

Hello. I am thinking about getting another pair of headphones. I currently own and use Audio Technica M50s. I like my M50s, but I am curious about open back headphones and what they have to offer to the table of audio. I will use the headphones for entertainment such as music, gaming, and maybe some light video editing here and there. I have been researching on the Beyerdynamic DT 880s and they sound very appealing to me. I came across a sale on the DT 880 Pro 250ohm version for $170. Should I jump on this? Or is there another open/semi-open pair of headphones that I should maybe consider as well. My budget is around $200. Thanks.

Go for it. In the event that you may not like the DT880, you can always sell them without much of a loss.

Because headphones and speakers have different use cases. :rolleyes:

 

Plus, headphones aren't dependent on the acoustic arrangement of the speakers in the room relative to the listener.

What ssl said. Also headphones are cheaper for the same sound quality and gives more privacy.

Ok. Thanks. I'll go for it! One more question. Since those are 250ohm headphones, should I look into investing in another DAC/Amp? I use a Fiio E10 now.
