I recently started playing Metro Last Light and Batman Arkham City. I had an old 650 I decided to use as a dedicated physx card.

I have set all physx processes to be handled by the 650, but the neither game shows that physx is working from the 650. In Metro Last Light it goes from around 100fps with physx off and down to less than 20fps with physx on. This leads me to believe the 780 is still handling the physx load.

I'm not sure why it isn't working. I could use some help.

Factors:

    Game Compatibility

    PhysX Load

    Main cards performance

Those all play key roles, mainly the 780 might actually process physx better then the 650 alone.

Oh, well I hadn't thought of that. How do you figure out how well a card can process physx?

There is most likely some application or bench mark that can do this... hmm... To Google! Give this a shot: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/physx-fluidmark/ Try a test on your main GPU then on the other and see which one comes out on top.

don't bother.

Any modern card is better and less heat and power. If it is an improvement, the gains will be so minimal why even bother

also I don't even think Nvidia remembers that they have this feature it's so useless

98% of the time useless

Error: 410

I completed the test and the 780 beat the 650 in the benchmark. Well I would rather have playable framerates than physx, so I'll just stick with the 780.

If I ever decide to sli I'll turn it back on, but I won't need sli for a some time.

Thanks for the help!

PhysX on Last Light is notoriously difficult and will kill framerates dead.

Most SLI set ups can't manage 1080p 60FPS with PhysX on
