Trying to choose between two headsets for gaming. Turtle Beach z22 and Logitech g230. I like how the g230s have removable cups and rotate a full 90 degrees. But from the reviews that I read, there is a very slight difference in mic quality between both. I like how the z22s come with an amplifie thought. Which ones should I get? Do you guys recommend any headsets for gaming that are red and black that are not the two that I choose?

id go Logitech before Turtle Beach just because of that huge box/control on the turtle beaches.

Although frankly I knowing what I know about both brands and the quality I wouldn't buy either.

how?

its very obvious in some games. Major difference between  stereo mode BF4 and surround mode BF4. IMO the surround balances the sound out better, and maybe good or bad increase the base.

I have a pair of G430s and they are awesome besides one thing, The cloth on the ear cuff sucks and it irritates my ears and I have a rash from it but I found out that someone makes a leather cover for them so you wont have that problem but overall the headset has nice sound quality and I love the blue braided cable

recommendations?

thats the issue I don't have alternatives. They are out I just don't pay enough attention. If I were looking for one I check reveiws on sound quality and make sure it had a decent cable that doesn't easily break but isn't so thick you have to bend it to make sit the way you want to. I would also make sure it has the ability to use analog connectors. The benefit to Logitech is that they have a really good warranty policy and are very good with RMA's if something wee to break.

so i should go with the g430s?

I won't say no but there are some issues with the cord liking to get tangle with itself a lot and eventually like all USB  headsets from Logitech the usb part dies. But you can us the analog connectors instead which is what I would do from the start anyway.

How did this thread get so bad so fast? OP you should get neither of them. They are both bad. If you let me know your location and budget, I can direct you to something better. Also, why would you ever pay extra for the G430? They're literally the same headset but the G430 comes with a $5 usb dongle that isn't even that good.

Screw "7.1 surround".

Forget "surround headsets" altogether.

Kingston HyperX Cloud headset is actually a good value and last time I checked it's $80 on Amazon. It's the one exception to headsets which are usually all bad.

Well to tell you honestly I wouldn't recommend Turtle Beach, after what happened to my TBS-2052 Ear Force Z2.

The left side of the ear cup stereo stopped working and I just heard sound from the right sided stereo.

And the same thing happened again after we had it repaired.

Although it may be that this pair of headset could have been defective.

It has been a pretty long time since this happened so I don't really remember much about the warranty stuff or It could have been just expired.

Of course I don't mean that their every product would be the same, it's just that I had a really bad luck.

Otherwise they served very well.
