Is My Build Overkill?

Go to solution Solved by PokémonTrainerFour,

When did $1600 ever become overkill?
That's the sweet spot.

There's technically no such thing as overkill.

Hey everybody, I have been choosing parts for the PC I am to build this year, but the more I go, along with help from the people on this forum who I thank very much, it seems like people on this forum are building good PC's for about 700$ while mine has ended up at 1600$. I mostly game on my PC along with some photo, sound, and document projects. So is this overkill? Thank you! :)

Edit: Also, I plan on streaming in the near future and that's why it might be overkill.

You can likely get away with a 4690K. The power supply is overkill though; get a 550w.

There's no aftermarket cpu cooler. Does this mean you're not overclocking? If not, don't get a K series cpu.

Even if you do a bit of editing with photos, I really doubt you'd need an i7. Could shave off a few bucks by downgrading that.

750W is a little overkill for a single card setup, but if you want to have that future proofed for SLI then that's fine.

If you really wanna save some more moolah you could try the AMD side for the graphics card.

Get an i5-4690k, 600w PSU, cheaper case and a better GPU (like a r9 290 :3)

You might have issues fitting the ram under the cooler. The bequiet is a huge cooler, and will most likely cover the first 2 ram slots. The gskill ram looks pretty tall. I don't know if you can move the fan on the cooler to the rear, or if moving the fan up will clear it. I just thought i would point it out  :)

If you swap the gpu to the 280X you can fit a larger SSD in.
