Hi guys

im new to the forum :D

I have a question for u... my Brother claims that if his GPU hits 50-60c while Running a game he will notice a performance drop, and that this is normal... what do you guys think of that?

My maximum observed temperature is around 60 degrees and I haven't noticed any performance throttling.

try a burn-in test, they display temps and FPS, so if there is any performance drop as temps go up, the numbers should tell you.

If he REALLY is seeing a drop in performance then it can't be the GPU. Something else must be overheating to cause the drop in performance, perhaps his CPU. A GPU wont throttle itself until it reaches around 95-100c.

It's a Kepler GPU. They throttle at 70, 80, and 90 degrees to keep temperatures in check. Tell your brother to download MSI afterburner and increase the power limit to the maximum.

CPU: Intel i5-2320 @ 3.9gHz

GPU: MSI GTX 670 PE @ 1411/7387

I wanna go fast! :P
