laptop still good?

Go to solution Solved by AnnoyedShelf,

how would it stack up to a toshiba sattelite with the i3?

the satellite wouldn't stand a chance...

im looking at a ibuypower W870CU laptop, I7-Q720 @1.60, 8GB ddr3 ram, 1GB nvidia gtx 260 video card. the only games this would see if COD or world of tanks, im going to use it mostly for college. i can get it for $250, does it beat new laptops that are in the $200-$400 range?

In fact, most laptops at that price range have AMD E1's or Intel Atom's.

Yes, that's a really good deal. However keep in mind back in those days as far as a laptop with a dedicated GPU, you either had horrible battery life, or a really heavy laptop. Not both.

i recently put on fb "people are nuts about their 1.1lbs laptop and im trying to find a way to carry my desktop around" so the heavy weight dosnt bother me, and i will probably do what i did with my first laptop, i bought 3 extra batterys for it (was cheaper than a battery bank) so id probably do something like that
