Go to solution Solved by brob,

is it worth getting a 4690k, if im not going to overclock it

what difference is there between z97 and z87?

If you are not going to overclock then I would suggest an i5-4690, https://www.komplett.se/intel-core-i5-4690/815202 and MSI H97 Gaming 3 motherboard, https://www.komplett.se/msi-h97-gaming-3-socket-1150/815065. The costs is almost identical and stock performance is actually better.

ive thought about getting a samsung evo instead because of its lower price and good reviews, im probably going to get the samsung evo now :P

The EVO is a good choice. You may also want to consider the new Crucial MX100 https://www.komplett.se/crucial-mx100-ssd-128gb-25-7mm/817430.

You might want to consider a CS650M power supply, https://www.komplett.se/corsair-cs-650m-650w-psu/802642.

Hello, ive been planing this pc build for a very long time now, ive posted 2 posts where ive asked about some specific parts, but now i feel that im ready to get some opinions on the build

Is there a reason to not get the 4690K and a Z97 board?

Because there is no reason to get those?

Go with a Samsung EVO instead of a Cherryville ssd.

No. The only reason to get a k series cpu is for oc'ing.

Z97 is the latest chipset which supports all 1150 cpu's. The Z87 chipset also supports 1150 cpu's and the latest devils canyon cpu's with a bios update, but unlike Z97 it won't support the upcoming Broadwell cpu which is due early next year i think.

There isn't much of a price difference between the i5 4690k and i5 4690 at least here in uk. The same goes for the i5 4670k and i5 4670.

@noisebomb44 Looks great as it is.

The only thing that would make it much cheaper is by choosing a non-K cpu and going with an H87 instead of Z87. But that's only if you never plan on overclocking or doing SLI (two nvidia graphics cards).

Personally I would say yes, The 4690K should have better cooling over the 4670K and also has a faster base clock rate. And the main difference between Z87 and Z97 boards are the ability for the new Haswell Procs right out of the box, Boradwell support in the future, and the Sata express and M.2 support.

IMO I generally always like to get the latest stuff (Assuming it's better) so that I do not get out dated as quickly.

The XFX in my link above is a better choice than the Corsair, and it is slightly cheaper.

i think that i might do some SLI in the future, and i still want overclocking to be a choice, anyway do you think that a dual 770 2GB gigabyte graphic card can do (with the parts ive already listed) with a 650 powersupply?

ive been looking into the MX100, but i think i doesent have the software that i want from intel and samsung

also, i might do some sli in the future, so i want to go with a SLI compatible PSU

might do that in the future, when i need those 4,3 GHz (or whatever you get)

ive gotten a lot of recomendations about the corsair one, and thats why i wanted to stick with it, now im going to watch some reviews of then XFX, to make sure its good

MX100 ssd come with a license for Acronis True Image HD 2014 drive cloning & backup software (http://www.acronis.com/en-eu/oem/products/trueimage-hd/), http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Solid-State-Drives-SSD-Knowledge/Installing-and-Activating-Acronis-True-Image-HD-2014/ta-p/153150. This is an excellent product.

650W would be marginal to SLI GTX 770. The Corsair CS Series psu are multi-gpu capable. If you really intend to SLI an overclocked system I would suggest at least a 750W psu.

XFX psu are manufactured by Seasonic, a very reputable psu manufacturer. (They also make several Corsair units, AX760 and AX860 being two examples.) The 80+Bronze XFX unit suggested by @lee32uk is very good but slightly less efficient than the 80+Gold CS model I suggested. Either one would be a good choice, in my opinion they are better than the RM650.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

+1

@noisebomb44

like he said, 750 80+ Gold would be good for dual 770's

Seasonic makes a large number of power supply innards. I believe many of the corsair units use seasonic as well. I would throw any unit you want to buy in google with "review" and you'll find reviews that stress tested it and pulled them apart etc.
