Hey guys!

I'm planning my first build, and i'm both excited and terrified :)

Therefore, to calm my nerves, please tell me what you think!

I'm going to use photoshop, no heavy 3D though, and i'm planning to mod skyrim heavily and play some other 'heavy(?)' games, like metro last light.

Would this work? Or do you know other/better components?

Also, is it realistic to build for someone with zero experience?

List on pcpartspicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/s6r4Bm

The monitor I was planning on getting is the BenQ GW2760HE, is it any good?

I considered an i7, however as a student, 100 euros extra is a lot of money. So I need to be sure that it's worth it. What is your opinion on that?

Thank you for your time!!!

Looks good get the 4gb 770 instead though, if you have the budget for it.

Looks pretty solid. I would add a hyper 212 Evo to cool the CPU and perhaps change from the 4670K to the 4690k, as long as you are looking at a Z97 board. But other than those I like it.

CPU: i9-13900k MOBO: Asus Strix Z790-E RAM: 64GB GSkill  CPU Cooler: Corsair H170i

GPU: Asus Strix RTX-4090 Case: Fractal Torrent PSU: Corsair HX-1000i Storage: 2TB Samsung 990 Pro

That SSD is really bad. I would swap it for something like the Crucial MX100 - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/crucial-internal-hard-drive-ct256mx100ssd1

If you don't need CUDA support, then a 280x would be a cheaper option over the gtx 770.

The EVGA Supernova G2 is better and cheaper than the Corsair RM - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20750xr

The i5 4690K is the newer cpu.

Is that worth it? I've heard it's only usefull if you use more than one monitor, and I don't plan on doing that. Because it's quite a lot more expensive..

Alright, a CPU cooler is next on my list, thanks :)

What is the pro of buying the 4690k instead of the 4670k?

I was in doubt about the ssd, the benchmarks differ quite much. So thanks for telling me, i'll look into the crucial one :)

Does EVGA make good psu's? People told me to only look at corsair and seasonic because the other brands have unstable psu's..?

And thanks for the tip on the AMD GPU :)

More consistent chips and better thermal interface between the lid and CPU itself. Chip will run a bit cooler when overclocked. Very minor changes but they are pretty much the same price most places so why not get the improved version.

The EVGA has a 10 year warranty. It is made by Superflower who are very good. Corsair psu's are not that special these days, since they stopped using Seasonic.

Are you planning to sli/cf?

While it's not the best, the v300 is far from really bad. For everyday usage, it's not much different than any other decent modern ssd.

EVGA, like Corsair doesn't manufacture their psus themselves but rebrands. They have some alright units like their B series and some of the best from their G2 series.

The fact they changed to slower NAND without telling anybody is enough to put me off them. The MX100 is a pretty good SSD for the same money.

Not to be nit-picky but they aren't the same price. It'd be a different situation if they were.

Looks like the same price to me. Plus you get a bit more storage with the MX100.

Ahh, my mistake. I was thinking of the 120GB drives.
