Yes and no. All rockstar games use the "Rockstar Advanced Game Engine" RAGE so technically all of them use the same engine

 

They have shown GTA 5 running on PS4 with some pretty amazing looking graphics so they will have heavily upgraded the engine to next gen

 

Max Payne 3, GTA 4, Red Read etc were all made in the RAGE engine

Don't know about you but I'd rather pay for the devs who delay their game to make it more optimized and look beautiful than consoles even if it takes a year, unlike Ubisuck with the-game-that-everyone-know that is shitty optimised for PC to make it looks equal to PS4/XBO, but I can't help worried if R* will make GTAV for PC as a GTAIV-renamed, let's hope a year waiting for PC is worth, I got tired of playing in PS3 with 30fps@720p now

Have u played GTA V on 360/ps3? its way better and way different to gta iv but it runs so terrible on those console i seriously wouldnt be surprised if the pc version WASN'T a port.

What would you call waiting one year after the first, dumbed down release to port it to pc? They did it only because otherwise nobody would have bought it for the old gen consoles. That's being a dick in my book.

That's not the reason, trust me. That's not how it works. If they can release the game on any platform and it works perfectly, porting it to another platform shouldn't take more than a month or two. Look at bioshock infinite: that one got delyed on all platforms, and then was lanched on all at the same time and it worked perfectly. They didn't release it on one platform and then take a whole year to port it.

Rockstar is quite a different case from Bioshock Infinite. They focus mainly on consoles and I haven't seen a Rockstar title which release on both PC and console at the same time, but then again, if it wasn't for those petition, there wouldn't be a PC version of GTAV. So let's face the hard truth: They just do it because people pressure them to and because of the console's success, they never intended to release a PC port at first, Sony and Microsoft paid this company to make it exclusive to console first, if it success, whether to release it to PC or not is neither of Sony and Microsoft's business cause their console sells like hot cake when the game release. So don't expect much from R* releasing multi-platform title without any delaying, the harsh lesson from Watch Dogs - the most overhyped game of 2014 and after releasing became the biggest bomb of 2014 due to shit optimization and meh-gameplay.

I owned a GTAV copy for PS3, the game sometimes stutters in some scene, making the fps reduced to maybe 17 ~ 25?
