how to format a wright protected USB

So i got a usb drive from a company that was 4.0gbs. they partitioned it with a 500mb and a 3.5gb config. The 500mb has all the company info and short videos showing off the stuff they do, and the 3.5gb one is empty.

 

here is my problem, i want to format the 500mb partion (i can also format the whole thing if its easier) then add that "unallocated volume" to the 3.5gb usb.

so am i dumb here? you see how my C drive has partitions, but its all in one slot. since these are in different slots, does the usb drive have like 2 drives on it??????

Try renaming one of the drives to the same name as the other partition.

Try renaming one of the drives to the same name as the other partition.

Well try formatting it if the data is not important, or backup the data to a separate drive. It may be write protected, but not read protected :)

nothing is working, i even edited stuff in the registry, no joke. i tried adding/removeing/editing the drivemenagementprotocall

It might be dead then...

Is 3.5GB not enough? You can always buy a 8GB USB drive for a couple bucks...

its not that, when i plug in the drive it brings up BOTH drive windows. and i have to close both as it is.

Is tehre any tiny switch on the USB drive that would lock the reads? I know SD card have this, not sure if your USB might...

not on the out side. maybe if i striped it down to the circuit board
