Ok so i posted yesterday when me and and a friend couldnt get his computer to display. Well, now its displaying, but its pushing out 3 fps on battlefield 3 at low, medium, high, and ultra at 1080p settings and on mw3, we're getting some SERIOUS artifacting. It was a pre owned computer that we bought from a friend, and it was working fine when we bought it. All we did was change the case it was in. We updated the drivers, and we checked our connections and everything looks fine. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

I can only think of some mistake in the assembly, like using the wrong pci-e slot (perhaps one that is 2x electrically), otherwise I can see no reason why it would perform differently from before. UNLESS you damaged the card in the process, which is possible.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Well we put it in the slot highest up, cliset to the cpu. So maybe we did damage it. I hope not though because its used, no warranty...

I had this same issue with bf3 and 7970 recently. I had re install the whole game and download punkbuster. Not sure about artifacting in mw3.. Could be the latest drivers causeing the issue.. try stable if your on beta.

Alrighty we'll try it out thanks

If he is artifacting then it sounds more like a hardware problem than a software problem. Double check that card is being adequately powered, try a different PCIE slot, if it's OC'd put it back down to stock clocks. See where that takes you.

First of all do not panic!

Take the GPU out of this computer and put it into another computer to test the GPU. If the artifacts are gone and the card performes in another rig you know that it is unlikely that the GPU is damaged.

Next thing that you will have to check is the PSU, first disconnect it and reconnect it properly. If possible exchange it with another to test.

If this is done and the PSU and GPU is fine it is likely that you probably damaged a PCIe slot when changing the hardware into another case. Test all the PCIe slots, if the problem still exists, try a BIOS update of your MB.

If this doesn´t help you either chances are the MB is damaged. But you need to figure it out step by step per elimination and root causing what´s going on.

If it's from your friend, just give it to them to return for you.

There issues in a few games with artifacting  and latest 14.6 beta amd driver. So I'm just throwing that out there for him.

Ahh. I'm unfamiliar with AMD drivers.

Me and another friend were having this issue, though it was with Watch_Dogs and BF4. Uncheck 64 bit support in Rivatuner.
