My friend bought a used computer with an 8 core cpu, asus rog mobo, 16 gb ram, and a 7970. All we did was take the parts from the old case, and put them in his new nzxt case. Now its not displaying anything. We tried different gpus, different pci-e slots, and different display outputs. Nothing is working. The mobo lights up, and the fans on his cpu and gpu start spinning, but his case fans wont, and the lights on his power buttons turn on at first then turn back off after a few minutes. Any ideas?

So was the computer running when you first purchased it?

Are you using the same psu?

Did you guys change any mobo settings or try pulling the cmos battery to clear the settings? Could be that the pci-e video is disabled.

Have you removed the mobo from the case and tried it?

Yeah, no luck

Have you already tried to re seat the cpu and ram? Sometimes oddly enough I've ran into a few instances like that where switching the ram around actually helps.

Make sure you firmly seated the RAM. You have to give it a good push for it to click.
