Ask samsung. Android wear is an app that works with a phone. The watches firmware can't be changed AFAIK.

Android L is just the next release of Android, Samsung will probably release a Touchwiz skinned version in due course (a few months after Android Ls release in Autumn), either way only Samsung knows.

You can't replace Tizen on your Galaxy Gear for Android Wear either, it is possible that you might be able to after the skilled hackers get to try but I doubt it really.

Right now its only a developer preview that is available for nexus 5 and 7(2013). No other device is supported. For your Samsung gear you are stuck with Tizen or the older android version that its running. Since there is possibility that the new note 4 will launch this fall it might come loaded with new android l. And the older flagship will fallow suit with update. Now that update might take a while to reach you because of carrier delays and stuff like that.

I liked how Android L looked, and I probably wont use all the features but it still is better then what I currently have and that's the reason for my interest. I wish I had a nexus phone though just to try it.

So I can put anything here?

The Android L release is only for the Nexus 5 and 7 (2013) devices, the OS is not a consumer daily driver but for developers to test on.

Until Google releases the current source code for L, there is absolutely no chance of getting it on any device other than the ones mentioned above. And when the source code is released, you will likely have to void the warranty on the device that you intend to install it on, to get it.

If you just want to try it, you can have it running in the AVD from the Android SDK, look here http://developer.android.com/preview/setup-sdk.html

Comb it with a brick
