Setting up Litecoin mining?

So I want to start Litecoin mining in a pool, I followed this guide and tried both cgminer and GUIMiner but I don't think they're working.

I have tried coinotron.com and give-me-ltc.com

I have tried GUIMiner and CGMiner

I will ne using 1 7850

After about an hour of trying I finally thought I had everything working but now for some reason when I open GUIMiner it won't open. It starts as a tab on taskbar then when I click on it it moves over to the smaller icon on the right. If I can get this fixed I can probably start mining. I am also willing to use cgminer if someone will explain how to set it up.

I dont know a lot about guiminer, but i can help you with cgminer.

you will need to make a .bat file that will launch cgminer and tell it what settings to use for your specific gpu.

to do this you just has to open the notepad and type in this code (this is a basic code with no overclock stuff, you will have to research on how to overclock using cgminer if you want to do it)

color 02cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u YOUR MINERS NAME.1 -p YOUR MINER PASS --intensity 13 --shaders 1024 --worksize 256

Note: just fill in your miners username and miners pass, and set the intensity higher if you want the range is [8-20], 18 recommended

after typping this code, save as [anynameyopu want].bat

save the file to your cgminer folder and doucle click to open it.

hope this get you mining at low Khs/sec, them you just need to polish your code for your GPU.

bla bla bla this, meh that!

Ok so I've created the .bat file and placed inside the cgminer folder. What next? This is what I get when I either run the .bat or run the cgminer.exe

i think you are missing the port for coinotron.com:####

coinotron.com:3334

type that in your GPU.bat file and open the .bat.

good luck

That's already there, I think I'm just going to Bitcoin mine as I managed to set that up with ease

Had the same problem with Guiminer. I got it working it is just you have to hover your mouse cursor over the icon, then right click and choose maximize. You will then see the window fully maximized which you can then drag or resize it back to your desired size. Had to do that everytime I opened Guiminer but now after moving to an ssd I don't have to. Hope this helps

Across the vast and majestic gulf of time and space, the jimmies rustle softly.

if you are starting from zero you will do better in a pool (group).

A good point to start is researching how to set up a miner pc.
