Headset choosing

Go to solution Solved by EmoRarity,

So 558s are 40$, still better to get 518s?

Depends on how you value money, if you feel like have the prestige of a more expensive headphone. Go for it, the HD518 represents a better value. And you can here asking for a value, so I am pushing the value.

Should I get these http://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-380-Pro-Collapsible-Professional/dp/B001UE6I0G with the modmic

or

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX49798

or

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX29478 with the modmic?

I'm basically asking which is the best price/performance

None of those?

Something like the SE-A1000 (If in America) would be a better value.

Well he used a Canadian Amazon site so I assume he's in Canada. Why not the Sennheiser 558 with the ModMic?

EDIT: If you want closed backs, the ATH-M50x looks good.

One, because the HD518 is a better headphone...Two because he has now clarified that he wants closed, not that closed is going to do him well for gaming but w/e.

Which leads me to recommend the SRH440's or M40x, SRH440 being the better option for pad options.

I prefer the 558 over the 518/598 because I prefer the sound of the 558 and it doesn't look ugly compared to the 518 and the 598 (the 598's looks are subjective though).

inb4 they all use identical drivers, its just that the HD518 is $80...

Ok I change my mind open or closed I don't care they both seem to have advantages.

Do you live in a noisy environment like a subway?
