Chromecast~Microwave

So when somebody uses the microwave in the next room it pretty much kills my stream from my wired computer to my 2.4Ghz N router to my chromecast. Why is this?

the waves interfere with ze connection i laughed at first when i read this then i realized that it is something that is clearly possible

Only option is to move the microwave further from the chromecast or the chromecast further from the microwave.

 

Or don't use the microwave at all.

Theres no way to fix it though because even if I get a 5Ghz router it will still have to use 2.4 for the chromecast,

I can't really help you. All I can recommend is to keep the microwave as far away from the router and all devices, and maybe try facing it another direction... It's be a hassle, but it might save your internetz.

It's because the wave length that microwaves use are literally the wave length named "microwaves". Which is way stronger than the radio waves which is what wifi uses. So thus it interferes with your signal. You shouldn't be using your microwave that much though so it shouldn't be a big problem.

Basically what everyone else said about interference, but this shouldn't be happening.

 

You need a new microwave. That one has a leak, and could be messing up more than your WiFi signal.

I agree. Because I have a microwave and right through the wall is my tv and I never have any wireless signal problems when I use the microwave. And yea microwaves being leaked can seriously damage someone over time.

So you definitely need to get a new microwave.
