Wired or Wireless?

lbrwnie

Hi guys

Was just wondering what would be the best setup, I also have some speakers that I listen to most of my music on.

Wireless:

Corsair Vengance 2100, Blue Snowball Microphone

Wired:

Audio Technica ATH-M30x, Antlion ModMic 4.0

Which would be better for casual gaming/music listening, I am not an audiophile.

I will be doing youtube videos with the microphone and mainly gaming and some music with the headphones. As I said I mainly use my speakers for music but could switch if the M30x's are really good and comfortable.

Thanks

I prefer wired because I listen to lot's of music but if you will sacrifice a little bit of sound quality for no wires, go wireless

Wired is better, amplifier isn't attached to your head and doesn't require charging.

Sound quality is normally better too.

I have the steelseries wireless H.  I find I lose a bit of volume.  But I also find the sound is really clear.  No sound lag and they are very comfy.

Wired but not the M30X plus modmic. Modmic is too expensive to be worthwhile for a $100 budget. Go with Kingston HyperX Headset instead.

Did I mention anything about a budget? I was just asking what set would be better.

I've compiled all the prior suggestions for each Wired and Wireless plus my own into these 2 lists:

Wired

  • Better sound quality
  • No Charging
  • Can be slimmer (less hardware for wireless comm)
  • Can play with cable
  • Can have inline volume controls
  • Can be lighter

Wireless

  • NO WIRES
  • Charging
  • Amplifier attached to head
  • Can have onboard controls
  • Heavier
  • Can move around with them (~30ft / ~10m range depending on model)

Given those two choices, I would just go with the wireless.

If I really wanted quality, it would be a better headphone ( over ear, open, and removable cable... just my pref.).  Combine with mod mic, short mic cable and combine to single cable with headphone.

I have a wired headphone with detachable cable.  Plugs in small wireless adapter (audiomate AM8112) when needed (that's when convenience takes precedence).  Still looking for a good wireless sound and mic adapter so I can use with any headphone/headset.

My Rigs (past and present)
