PSU makes clicking noises?

Hi!

 

My older PCs PSU dont wan't to boot up the PC. Instead it makes clicking noises when i press the start button?

 

I already tried to disconnect everything fromt he mobo and start it. But still the clicking noise. But when i tried to disconnect the CPU power adapter from the mobo and then i pressed the start button, The PC started for a few secs and then turned off?

 

How can I solve this`?

Have you tried using a different Psu?

I can't. This motherboard uses a small 24 pin adapter. And this is my only PSU which is supporting that.

Stop pressing the f***ing button and throw it...

If it's like a regular click it's the fan

It is ONE click when I press the startbutton. I already checked the fan. Nothing is blocking it.

Test the PSU alone, if it doesn't click you may have a stupid problem related to manufacturers in the past...

Try with something connected in molex as a dummy (a fan, old ODD...)

But I doubt it'll work, just throw it, open it (ya, fan recycling :P) or do what you want with it.

But it do make so the motherboard lamp is flashing?

Also it starts up the PC for a few secs whent he CPU power adapter is not connected?
