Writing this from my phone i turned on my laptop this morning and had to connection.

It does however recognise my internet connection but has the yellow triangle on wired and cabled. I did unintstall and reinstall and also updated the drivers which weren't outdated.

It does say intel wifi technology not enabled so I enabled it and it still don't work. Also says something about wifi adapter but also updated that to. Tried system repair that didn't work and I can't do system restore as there's no previous restore points. I do belive it has something to do with avast antivirus as it came up with error 10013. My computer said avast wasn't the firewall and windows was but couldn't change to avast. I then uninstalled the whole avast antivirus and I'm now with no antivirus as I can't reinstall with no connection. Don't really no what else I can do please help me :'(

This happened to me. Make sure your modem Internet Activity and Cable LED are both blinking or on. if only one of them is on or blinking, unplug and replug the modem until theyre both on or blinking.

check internet options and make sure that it's not ticked to use a proxy server in the advanced connection settings.

try going into command prompt. ( windows r key then type cmd and hit enter) Type this

ipconfig /renew

then hit and enter and type this

ipconfig /flushdns

then hit enter

Hope this helps.

How ever if the actual internet it down it may be a service outage or your modem is dead.

If this helps I also got a message saying local area connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration

Thats because you are not using your local area connection you are using wifi. It will dissapear because you need to type cmd in the run box and type it in that window not directly into the run box.

You need to access your router's maintenance settings by going into it's lan IP. There should be settings there to refresh the IP and change network settings. You might want to contact your ISP to help you with this though, as it can be quite complicated.

Flushdns just said successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache
