Well I look at uncharted 4 and the order 1886, I see games that are at least on par with what you listed.

We can already see how Far Cry 4 is going to look on next gen hardware, that looking better or worse than 3?

Metro Last Light is also getting a port, so we will be able to see how the systems fair with that game.

 

The Order 1866 won't even run at 1080p and it's locked at 30fps, so it fails 2 of the most basic criteria. What we've seen from Far Cry 4 so far was most likely PC footage. Uncharted has never downgraded graphics it has shown at E3 etc etc, so it would be pretty safe to take U4 as it was, which looks beautiful.  Can't say anything about FPS though. lol

I'm not sure what Release Price might have been in North America at the time for the PS3 but here in AUS, I do believe it was $799+.

Would Console gamers be willing to pay $799 for the Next Gen console if it were to Guarantee them 1080p games 60fps.

Lets say for arguments say cost price ratio is 100%. If Sony and Microsoft are to Team up with AMD again for the next Console, they could get some decent Hardware in there, I dare say they could get a R9 280X in there for the price.

I know this is without any R&D but more so ready to go off the shelf products per say.

I honestly do believe PC Gamers are getting shafted because of Consoles lack of performance

 

IMO, there's a complete misconseption of why average joes buy gaming consoles and of how much they are actually willing to spend. Only the most nerdy ones actually buy their systems at launch. Most people buy their's after a significant price drop. Also, hardly anyone (speaking about the general public) really cares about 1080p and 60fps promises. There's only a certain group of people (a minority, really) who can't get themselves to stop posting about it over and over and over again. Other people just want their games to look better than they did on the previous generation and they want them to work without having to worry about any kind of tech stuff. To some of them something as simple as setting up an internet connection can be troublesome. There really are people who just don't care and have no interest in knowing more about it. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if more people cared about the SONY logo on the system than the specs. (talking about people who don't post on forums such as this one)

 

You guy's annoyance about games not being optimized for expensive computers (the ones that are truly more powerful than the latest consoles) doesn't have anything to do with those who chose to play their games on consoles. You should complain to those who make the games instead. In fact, that constant complaing to those who play games on consoles doesn't make the "master race" look good in any way and I can see, why developers prefer to cater to those who don't complain as much.

 

Also, Australian prices don't really matter to the rest of the world even though we are aware that you guys get shafted all the time. The launch price of the PS3 was 599€ in Europe and the PS4 launched for 399€. I don't know anyone who actually paid 599€ for his PS3 and all of my friends are waiting for the PS4's price to drop down to 299€.

 

Btw, I do own a PC that I built myself. I also spent 2000€ on a ASUS notebook back in 2005.

I would never pay that for a console

pcs are better for verything and you dont need just to play on them

games are cheaper since there are no cds

if you dont want a keyboar or mouse and you just want to relax go on a grab a controller

400€ for the PS3 on launch day sounds like a really good deal to me. Certainly a much better deal than the latest model that some retailers are still trying to sell for as much as 299€. I expected it to be 149€ by now. Same price that I paid for my PS2 in like 2003 or 2004.
