Hey guys, I am new to this whole overclocking thing. I tried following the guide on the overclocking website, but I failed. My first attempt at overclocking my CPU ended up with my computer being in a boot loop and my raid array got corrupted. I had to re-install windows. Today, I decided to venture into my second attempt and at first, it wouldn't boot into windows. After I got it to boot, it crashed after about 15 minutes of stress testing. I had the voltage at 1.25 volts, and the CPU was clocked to 4.5 GHz. Windows task manager was only reading the max clock speed at 4.3 GHZ though and when I began the stress test, it was reading 5.2 GHz clock speed in the task manager. CPU-Z did read a clock speed of 4.5 GHz though. I also set my ram to 1.65 volts and a speed of 1600. Does anyone have any ideas as to where to start or where I am failing? I just want a higher clock speed for faster video rendering since I am a youtube content creator.

Here are my system specs:

Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 MOBO
Intel i7-4820k CPU @ 3.7 GHz

Corsair H60 Liquid Cooler
XPG-V2 DDR3 1866 Ram ADATA 4GB x 4
Nvidia GTX 780
Windows 8.1 on 120 gb samsung evo 840

Yes, all my drivers are up to date and I have the latest bios.

EDIT: At the current moment I set everything back to stock.
