So basically I am trying to run the original rainbow six on an AMD card. It's a known issue it doesn't work too well but apparently there are some work arounds. Anyone have any ideas what to do? When I launch I just get a black screen with a mouse, and if i click I simply crash it completely and it says "re-install or restart" which I have done multiple times now.  Specs in sig and I've already tried installing an older direct X to no avail.

You're a baller for playing that game, the last time I had it on was on windows 98 on a 14'' CRT display.

I wish I could help with this, I hope someone gives you the answer.

Have you checked the PCGamingWiki page? Some entries involving that sherman.kmp are there.

Try running it in compatibility mode and as an admin if you haven't already

I know, it looks like such a good game, I also got the original Ghost Recon which looks good too.

The PCGW page tell's me where to look to see if there is an error/what the error is, but seems not to say how to fix it. That debug is from the sherman file. I got it on GOG so hopefully they will be able to find me the problem/fix it.

As it's from GOG it's auto in admin mode and what OS would you recommend. I have tried every one down to XP (SP1). There is a fix for the game 'R6 Vegas" but none for the original.

Try running it with compatibility for windows 2000/98
